Kids Birthday Party Ideas

Sharing is caring!

After the Harry Potter Birthday Party post, I decided to do a separate post to show some of the past birthday party themes we’ve done for the kids. These pictures were not taken with the intention of posting them on a blog, so forgive me. None of the parties were quite as elaborate as the Harry Potter Party, but they were all still a lot of fun.

Frozen Birthday Party

This was my daughter’s 1st Birthday and My neice’s 4th, but since the girls share a birthday we decided to have a big party together. At this time in our lives, my sister and I were teaching dance classes at the same studio, so we used one of the dance rooms for the party. It worked out really well, and it was so much fun to decorate.

Welcome! No witches allowed at this party.

We attached a hula hoop to the ceiling in the middle of the room with fishing line and alternated streamer colors.

The balloon arch deflated overnight so it was also attached to the ceiling with fishing line.

It’s hard to judge size in this picture, but the Olaf cake was massive.

The girls each got their own cake. Since it was my daughter’s first birthday, this was her smash cake, but we couldn’t just get a cake for one of them.

 Menu by my sister:

Snowballs- some kind of cake covered in powder sugar

Olaf noses- baby carrots

Frozen hearts- strawberries dipped in white chocolate

Anna & Hans Sandwiches- ham and cheese on Hawaiian rolls.

Happy Birthday sign (before I had a cutting machine). The picture corner. This was a big hit with the kids!

Glitter Fabulous 4th Birthday.

In 2016 I let my daughter pick the theme for her birthday party, and this is what she came up with. Pink, gold, and glitter everything. The decorations are all from Hobby Lobby, the “Savana” sign is from my sister.

I ordered the cookies and cupcakes from Baking Is My Yoga. They were sooo good.

Almond Bark Puffed Corn

Edible gold glitter on the cupcakes So sweet!

This was almost two years ago and she still talks about how much she loved this party.

Shane’s Zootopia 1st Birthday

Unlike his sister and his only two cousins, my son’s birthday is in September, so his parties have always been separate from the others. My sweet little baby loved (and still loves) the movie Zootopia. Of course no one remembers their first birthday, but he enjoyed it.Zoo Trail Mix- pretzels, oatmeal squares, M&Ms, and goldfish crackers

Cop Corn- Almond Bark Puffed Corn (it’s a popular party food for us).

His cake was the “Giant Donut”

Night Howler Punch: blueberry lemonade

The signs (above and below) were both by my talented sister, Jenni.

Finding Dory 2nd Birthday Party

This was such a fun party to decorate. The hanging jellyfish are made out of paper lanterns, streamers, and ribbons. I loosely followed this tutorial. More trail mix and Almond Bark Puffed CornThe coral reef is made from pool noodles. And as always, the sign was drawn by my sister.
